Frequently Asked Questions

The VA will send correspondence anytime they need additional information, have made a decision or will be scheduling you an appointment. Some of the correspondence has a response deadline therefore it is very important that you read the correspondence and respond as needed. If you have received correspondence and you have questions about what it means please reach out to us and we would love to help you navigate the VA process.

The VA typically provides decisions both grants and denials in the form of Rating Decisions. When you receive a Rating Decision you have one year from the date on the notification letter to file an appeal. Under the new AMA system, there are numerous different options for appeal such as a Supplemental Claim and a Higher Level Review. Each option has pros and cons. If you are confused about what option is best in your case please reach out and let us help. The VA system can be overwhelming and confusing. You do not have to fight alone. We’ve got your 6.

Under the rules and regulations put in place by Congress, The VA has a Duty to Assist the Veteran in obtaining evidence to support their claim if certain minimum requirements have been met. One of the ways they fulfill this requirement is to send Veterans to Compensation and Pension Exams (C&P exams). A C&P exam is an appointment with a contracted medical professional who will examine the Veteran to obtain information about the conditions in question. C&P exams are different than a regular medical exam with your personal physician. If you have questions or concerns about an upcoming exam please reach out.
